Financial Adviser Development
Delivered through The Qualifications Academy
The CII have published further details of its new Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and its interaction with the existing Diploma in Financial Planning. This recent information has allowed us to review our overall proposition and the support we can offer.
All our material and programmes are jointly developed by a team of leading industry experts. These include learning and development professionals, CII accredited trainers and a former CII chief examiner. We therefore offer a compelling proposition.
So, how can we help you...........
Existing CII Diploma
In order to support those wanting to achieve the existing Level 4 qualification and those studying for the Level 6 qualification we will continue to offer the full range of support to all 8 of the existing JO papers and all 5 of the AF papers.
See below for details of our courses for the July papers.
JO8 Financial Planning Practice
We already have a unique programme for this exam. It has now been confirmed as one of the two ‘equivalent units’. Therefore advisers can take this exam safe in the knowledge that it is appropriate for both the existing and the new qualification and will not require any CPD qualification top-up. As such we will be promoting this as one of our special offerings.
The programme is designed to start a month before the exam.
- Generic revision day/workshop (3-4 weeks before exam)
- Case study issued by CII (2-3 weeks before exam)
- Case study specific revision day/workshop (1-2 weeks before exam)
See below for details of this programme and others we are currently offering.

CF3 Financial Protection
The RO5 exam will not be launched until later in the year but in order to meet short term demand we do have a new CF3 course (call for details). This will be the other ‘equivalent unit’, meaning again that advisers can take this exam safe in the knowledge that it is appropriate for both the existing and new qualification and will require no CPD qualification top-up. This course will then morph into the new unit upon the launch of RO5.
New CII Diploma
Once the syllabuses are available we will be designing and building both f2f revision days and workshops for each of the new RO exams. The RO6 support will replicate our existing JO8 programme. These will be launched at the end of the year. Initially there will also be a ‘train the trainer’ programme.
We are also creating an online revision and testing tool designed to mirror the new multi-choice exam format. This will be launched in Q3.
Qualification CPD Top-Up
Once the FSA have published final details of the exact format and content of the CPD top-up requirements we will be offering a comprehensive range of gap filling CPD. This will be delivered by f2f courses, seminars, computer based training and online testing. Each will be independently verified.
Our current focus is on supporting the route to level 4 and level 6 via the CII. The data shows over 20,000 people took a CII diploma exam last year. The next largest entry for a non-CII exam was approximately 1,000. However, we are monitoring demand and will always look to meet the changing needs of the market place.
