Programme content

This programme will provide you with the essential skills that are required to help you to take on the responsibility of managing, motivating and getting the most out of people. Upon completion of the programme, you will be able to:

  • Describe the role of a manager and explain the differences between management and leadership
  • Outline a range of management  approaches and identify your own preferred style of management.
  • Set clear goals, standards and expectations
  • Communicate with your team in an engaging and effective manner
  • Manage the performance of your team
  • Delegate effectively in order to achieve the ideal balance between leading and doing
  • Coach team members in order to enhance their performance
  • Recognise what motivates your team members and adapt your approach accordingly
