Overview

In the current climate, it is vital that any investment in learning and development activity delivers results.  If this is to be the case, then the first step is to be clear about the issues and challenges that any learning intervention needs to address.  If this isn’t done well, then time, effort and budget could be being wasted.

This programme will help trainers and learning consultants to identify the real cause of performance issues within their business in order to develop targeted and effective learning programmes.

Programme content

The programme covers the skills and knowledge required to design and develop learning solutions that deliver the required outcomes whilst catering for differing learner preferences.  Upon completion of the programme, you will be able to:

  • Describe the role that learning needs analysis plays within the training cycle
  • Contract with your customer and define the project terms of reference
  • Utilise a range of learning needs analysis tools, techniques and approaches
  • Carry out current and future state analysis considering qualitative and quantitative factors
  • Use effective questioning to explore issues
  • Identify the root cause of issues rather than just the symptoms
  • Define learning outcomes, recommended learning approaches and proposed evaluation approach
  • Report findings and recommendations in a persuasive and structured manner
