Illuminate Development is built on over 20 years of experience in learning and development.

This has given us the opportunity to work through many different approaches when considering the development of your people. From being able to help a business get to the root of the problem it faces, to full evaluation of any learning solutions that we deliver.

We follow a tried and tested process in order to complete the full consultancy cycle and are flexible enough to be able to use one or all of the elements of our approach as your business requires.

Contracting

An important step is to share the thinking around what is going on. Whether it is the start of the full consultancy process or simply using one of the steps in the cycle, it is really important to understand fully what you have in mind and how we can help. Having an agreed and fully documented approach ensures that we all share the same expectations and requirements.

Exploring

Knowing the problem is one thing, however identifying the cause or causes is quite another. We are specialists in performance and learning needs analysis and problem diagnosis.

We take care to ensure that we fully understand and define the expected skill, knowledge or performance improvement requirement you can expect to see before we recommend a course of action.

Developing

There is more than one way to deliver learning. Learning needs come in number of shapes and sizes, from influencing skills to understanding a new product. In addition learners come in different guises, from those that like to study alone through to those that just want to get stuck into a challenge. It is therefore clear that any development solution should take both these things into account.

We are experts in building a wide range of learning solutions that use a variety of learning approaches and media from training room based workshops, through internet based solutions to large scale conference events, plus lots of options in-between.

Additionally, if you have already defined the scope of a learning need, we are able to pick up your scope and build a learning solution that meets your requirements and specification.

Delivering

This is the bit where you and your people really get involved, plus we really get to bring our philosophy about learning to life. Whether it is sitting at home reading a distance learning manual, going online to do some elearning or attending a highly interactive, facilitated workshop, we know the best ways to engage with learners to ensure that real learning happens. Most importantly, we know how to make learning stick so that you see a real change in the skill, knowledge or performance levels of those people that complete our learning programmes.

If you have already developed your own learning programmes and just need to bring them to life, then we can provide you with highly skilled facilitators who will help to you to get the most from your materials.

Measuring

No matter what business you are in, the difference to the bottom line of any investment is important. We have always believed that you deserve to know what difference we have helped you make, either in number of sales, change in attitude or increase in quality. Effective measurement will come from clear diagnosis and for us the two areas sit hand in hand. When done effectively, measurement of change will confirm that your investment in your people was worthwhile.

When it comes to Delivering and Measuring stages of the consultancy cycle, we know this is where people actually see and feel the benefit of the work done in the Exploring and Developing stages. To ensure that this is successful, we use our model for Dynamic Learning Delivery to cover every angle.

Dynamic Learning Delivery

Simply delivering a course or other learning solution will clearly make a difference to your business and people. For real impact though, there a number of other factors that cannot be ignored.

Throughout the process we will ensure everybody knows what is happening and why.

There will also be a clear indication of how people are developing through agreed and measured criteria. From the initial communication that there is some learning taking place, to applying the new found skills or knowledge in the workplace, along the way Illuminate will be ensuring that every action, communication and measurement is in line with what was discussed at the Contracting stage and that everybody is energised by the investment in their development.
